M.K. (aka T. Piff) was born in New York City but was raised in New Jersey. Growing up in a household with a large vinyl collection of funk, soul, blues, Rock and Motown/R&B classics served as a catalyst for his love of music. As a young man, however, M.K. found a deep love and adoration for hip-hop and R&B music. Discovering his own musical talents lead him from writing poems in his parent’s basement to performing several shows on the local hip hop scene in New Brunswick, NJ and throughout the Tri-State area as well as collaborating with several other notable artists.

M.K. made his dream a reality in 2010 by forming his own independent music label GrindStone Go Gettaz, LLC. Since then he has released his double mixtape titled “GrindStone Filez: HeatRock & BedRock Vol. 1” and an unreleased album titled “Black Ice” with former group member Casino along with a host of other mixtape worth songs. He was also featured on “Mixtape Bully: Lyrical Felonies 4” with J-Hood (formerly of D Block) and Trilogy (Tek Productions) on the song “Airstrike.” Other notable collaborations include artists such as the late Pumpkinhead, Cymarshall Law, Skit Slam, and Broadway. Together they created the album titled “Black House.”

With a lot of new projects on the horizon, M.K. is looking forward to continue sharing his art with the world. DeepState, the newly formed alliance between M.K. and New Jersey producer Slater, is sure to set the tone with their new album titled “Lead by Example.”
